Designing a storytelling app
where kids are the heroes
Stowy is an app for the whole family. It creates personalised stories where children become the heroes, and their name, their face and their choices shape each adventure.
I looked after the app's UX and design from end to end: the design system, the onboarding, the screens where children build their own character, and the way it all works on a tablet, the screen families naturally gather around. I also designed and built the front-end of the landing page.
Designing for kids and parents at the same time is a nice challenge: it has to stay playful and fun for children, while feeling simple and reassuring for adults. So most of the work was about keeping everything warm and friendly, but still clear and easy to use.
